How We Did It?

How we created our high-end lab playground and why.

To create a Smart City Platform you need to have a place to test out things and fine tune them for the market. This is exactly why we built our lab, along the way we discovered that the building process itself also brings along alot of challenges. All of this has given us a lot of valuable real-life information that helped us design our platform and now it's our turn to inspire people around the world.

Analysis & Planning

First we started with an analysis, what do we want to accomplish or showcase? Where do we want to build this?

Design

Once we knew what we wanted, we started the lab design with our architects and technicians who are the best in their fields.

Build & Develop

This took the longest, actually building the lab. Parallel we started working on the platform and changed things along the way as we saw fit. To create a better expierence.

Testing

Once the lab was done we could start running tests and tweak the software so it was ready for the public. Along the way we kept adding and tweaking things and we will continue to do so.

The Idea
As an innovative tech company we are always looking for the next big thing. Our CEO, Dimitri Gielis, always had a dream of build a futuristic smart building so the choice was quickly made. We want to look for the boundaries of what is possible with tech that is available today and inspire people while doing it.
April 2019
The Location
Once we knew what we wanted to do we still needed to find a good place where we could accomplish this dream. We quickly ended up in Leuven, a technology driven city. Close to the Imec campus and the KU Leuven technology & research campus.
